WE Zimbabwe, a new virtual cultural platform, has launched a creative competition inviting musicians to remix the liberation war anthem “Nzira Dzemasoja.” The winner will receive US$2,000, organizers announced.
“An online movement WE Zimbabwe is calling on artistes to remix the liberation war song…with the winner taking away US$2,000,” the report states. The initiative aims to engage youth in celebrating national heritage through modern expressions.
Music and youth organizations have applauded the effort, saying it “brings our history to a digital generation.” Several upcoming events are planned to showcase submissions and expand cultural outreach.
